So I wanted to unpack the CPK files from the P5R Japanese PKG but ran into a problem. I can't unpack the dataR, playgoR, or the ps4R CPK files without the programs crashing when trying to unpack (opening and listing the files works fine). Apparently the issue was index out of bounds in array or something similar. This happens on every CPK unpacker I tried. I've used CriPakTools, YACpkTool, Repacker CPK, and quickbms's cpk.bms script with no success. I saw on the files section of this website the unpacked .cpk files from the QA Chinese PKG and I want to know how it was unpacked successfully. Any help is appreciated.

Ahh alright then, thank you. I guess I'll wait for more update or look for other leads myself.

Cheers.

the cpk itself is not encrypted, only *some* specific files are
but that is enough to kill the unpacker
you can try cpk browser, it ignores encrypted files
or use chinese cpk
