Browser notifications

Right now the forums have notifications but you can't set up the site to send *actual* notifications to your web browser. I know for sure that Chrome (both desktop and mobile), Edge, Opera, and others can send you desktop/push notifications. Is it possible to make this feature available for this web site as well?
